The So Shui Bor Memorial Cup was donated by Dr. J.H. Yap, OBE, and his wife in memory of Mrs. Yap's brother, the late Mr. So Shui Bor, who died in the course of duty on 17th November 1958.

The Cup is awarded annually to the member who is recognized as having made the most significant contribution to the Club for the year. The award is decided in the General Committee Meeting by vote on nominations from all members. The first winner of the Cup was Mr. T.G. Garner, CBE, JP in 1979.
